Erika Vives

Communications Director, Kite Jam (BVI) Ltd Erika Vives is a Senior Director with Andria Mitsakos Public Relations since July 2007 and is based in NYC. She oversees numerous travel and lifestyle accounts in addition to being communications director and spearheading the PR initiatives for BVI Kite Jam. Erika was brought on board from the inception of the event and has consulted the Team Partners on marketing and media relations leading to the successful March 2010 event.
Previously, Erika lead the outreach and strategy as media relations manager at Deutsch Inc. for Samuel Adams Beer securing placements in The New York Times, Fortune, Details, and coordinated broadcast segments for company spokesperson Jim Koch and celebrity chef partner David Burke. As senior account executive at Nancy J. Friedman Public Relations, she directed The St. Lucia Tourist Board account, securing feature stories in USA Today, Town & Country Travel and O, The Oprah Winfrey magazine.
Erika began her PR career in 1998 at Hawkins & Widness Public Relations where she traveled extensively to Southeast Asia, Australia, South America and Europe for Orient-Express Trains and Cruises, and the Rio de Janeiro Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Erika received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from James Madison University and is fluent in Spanish.
